Which is better Dailies Total 1 or Dailies AquaComfort Plus?
Dailies Total 1 is considered a better lens than Dailies AquaComfort Plus when it comes to oxygen transmissibility due to its silicone hydrogel material; However, Dailies AquaComfort Plus utilises three different wetting agents to compensate for this. This makes both of these contact lenses an excellent choice for dry eyes.
The combination of the three wetting agents in Dailies AquaComfort Plus are known as AquaComfort technology and work to retain initial wearing comfort and a stable pre-lens tear film. Dailies Total 1 on the other hand, relies on SmarTears technology to provide long-lasting moisture to the eyes by releasing an ingredient that mimics the eyes natural tears for a smooth and moist lens.
Both Dailies Total 1 and dailies AquaComfort Plus are designed with a handling tint for easy insertion and LightStream Lens Technology for optimal comfort by allowing for a thin contact lens edge.
As a silicone hydrogel lens with newer and more advanced technology, Dailies Total 1 can be worn for an unlimited amount of time (except for sleeping in) and is therefore considered better for those with early starts and late nights. It is a more expensive lens than Dailies AquaComfort Plus which, on contrast, can only be worn for 12-14 hours.
Dailies AquaComfort Plus belongs to a family of lenses as you can get Dailies AquaComfort Plus Toric and Dailies AquaComfort Plus Multifocal. Dailies Total 1 does not come as a toric lens, only as a multifocal lens with Dailies total 1 Multifocal.
