Dailies AquaComfort Plus do not currently have UV protection. If you want full UV protection, it is advisable that you wear protective sunglasses. Though AquaComfort does not come with UV protection, it does have many other great features for added comfort, such as Visitint for easier application and a high-water content for increased moisture.
AquaComfort Plus contains many features to increase comfort during wear. The lens contains the blink-activated moisturising agent polyethylene glycol (PEG) - commonly added to eye drops. In addition, the lens contains Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), a water-soluble synthetic polymer that contains water-loving (hydrophilic) properties to improve moisture. PVA also helps to improve visual clarity and the comfort of your eyes by maintaining your tear film throughout the day.
Hygiene and comfort are a huge benefit when you choose these convenient daily disposable lenses. You won’t have to bother with a complex contact lens cleaning routine, simply to apply a fresh and clean pair of lenses each morning. Before applying, make sure to ask your optician for your recommended wearing time.
The cons of wearing this lens are that it is not a silicone hydrogel lens, which may be less attractive to lens wearers. While it is a relatively affordable daily contact lens and offers incredible comfort for its price point, it is still a daily lens, making it more expensive than monthly lenses.
Both Aqua Comfort Plus and Dailies Total 1 are daily contact lenses, although their properties are entirely different. Dailies Total 1 is a silicone hydrogel lens that contains 33% water at the surface to provide superior hydration and moisture compared to any other contact lens. AquaComfort is made of Nefilcon A (a hydrogel) and has a water content of 69%. This helps to add comfort and moisture as it is not a silicone hydrogel lens.
They are not available as a coloured contact lens.
