Description
Daily contact lenses, or daily disposable contact lenses, are the most convenient type of lenses for wearers. Unlike monthly or two weekly lenses, daily disposables don’t require cleaning and storing. Comfortable and hygienic, daily disposables deliver excellent visual correction and convenience, as these lenses can simply be thrown away before sleeping and replaced with a fresh pair the next day.

Which daily contact lenses are right for me?
It’s very important to speak with your optician before trying out new contact lenses to see if they’re suitable for your eyes. There are a few things you also need to consider when buying daily disposables.
One thing your optician will consider is how sensitive your eyes are. If your eyes are prone to dryness, you’ll need to be prescribed lenses that cater to this. The general rule for standard hydrogel lenses is that the higher the water content, the more breathable they are. However, a typical silicone hydrogel lens offers up to five times the breathability of a hydrogel lens, but with lower water content. This means they can keep your eyes moist for longer, as well as maintain their more stable water content for longer.
A contact lens with a high-water content doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s ideal for dry eyes. Often low to mid water contact lenses can be gentler on the eyes, due to their silicone hydrogel design. Learn more about the water content of your contact lenses.
UV blocking is also an important factor for everyday lens wear, with many of our daily disposable lenses containing a UV blocker that help to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays. However, to protect the entire eye area, you should still wear sunglasses. Luckily, we have a fantastic selection of daily UV lenses to choose from that can be worn with your daily contacts.
How long can I wear daily disposable contacts for?
Daily disposable contact lenses are designed to be worn comfortably for 8 hours at a time. Nevertheless, the length of time they should be worn depends on the individual, the advice given to them by their optician and the type of lenses worn.
You should not wear your daily disposable contact lenses for more than one day as they are not designed to resist bacteria and protein deposits.
