Which is better Acuvue Oasys or PureVision2?
PureVision2 is a cheaper lens than Acuvue Oasys and is considered a better lens in terms of offering optimal visual clarity. The aspherical design promises reduced halos and glare compared to Acuvue Oasys which features a spherical design.
Both PureVision2 and Acuvue Oasys are designed to stand up to the demands of modern day living and offer an excellent choice of lenses for working professionals and those prone to dry eyes. PureVision2 utilises ComfortMoist Technology to ensure the lenses stay moist all day long, whereas Acuvue Oasys features HYDRACLEAR PLUS technology to retain moisture. A PVP based wetting agent is integrated into Acuvue Oasys lenses to increase water retention.
Acuvue Oasys is considered a better lens in the sense that it includes UVA and UVB blocker, a feature which is missing in PureVision2. It is available in a broader range of powers and as a two weekly lens, it is also considered a more hygienic lens wear option.
