What are daily contact lenses?
Daily contact lenses, or 'daily disposable contact lenses', are the most convenient type of disposable lenses, available for short-sightedness, long-sightedness, presbyopia and astigmatism. Comfortable and hygienic, daily contact lenses deliver excellent visual correction and convenience, as you can simply throw them away at the end of every day.
Can I correct all vision problems with daily contact lenses?
You’ll find a wide range of daily disposable contact lenses to correct short-sightedness (myopia) and long-sightedness (hyperopia), as well as dailies for astigmatic correction, with toric contact lenses.
We also stock daily disposable multifocal contact lenses that correct the age-related issue of presbyopia, while providing the convenience of daily disposable use.
Why should I choose daily contact lenses?
Convenience – ideal for people with a busy lifestyle, there’ll be no more rigorous contact lens cleaning routines and no need to buy solution.
Hygiene – with a fresh pair of daily contact lenses every day, you won’t need to worry about protein and other irritants building up on your lenses.
Comfort – slightly thinner than monthly lenses, daily disposable contact lenses are so comfortable you’ll barely notice you’ve got them in. You'll even find silicone hydrogel contact lenses suitable for daily disposable use. These lenses allow the eyes to retain more moisture, promoting exceptional comfort.

Which daily contact lenses should I wear?
While it’s very important to speak with your optician before trying out new contact lenses, to see if they’re suitable for your eyes, there are a few things you need to consider when choosing daily contact lenses.
One thing your optician will take into account when choosing your prescription for daily contact lenses is how sensitive your eyes are. If you’re prone to dry eye, you’ll need to be prescribed lenses that cater for this.
The general rule for standard hydrogel lenses is that the higher the water content, the more breathable they are. However, a typical silicone hydrogel lens offers up to five times the breathability of a hydrogel lens, but with a lower water content. This means they can keep your eyes fresher for longer, as well as maintain their more stable water content for longer.
It’s, therefore, not always the case that a lens with a higher water content will be better for dry eyes, as often low to mid water contact lenses can be gentler on the eyes, due to their silicone hydrogel design. For more information about the water content of your contact lenses, read our helpful guide.
UV blocking is also an important factor for everyday lens wear, with many of our daily disposable lenses containing a UV blocker that prevents the majority of UV light from entering the eye. However, each contact lens provides a different level of UV protection, while you should never rely on your lenses alone to keep you safe, with sunglasses proving a highly effective form of defence.
How much do daily contact lenses cost?
Daily contact lenses are slightly more costly than monthly or two weekly contacts, however offer the benefit of total convenience, something invaluable if you have a busy lifestyle. By avoiding high street opticians such as Specsavers and Boots, and their direct debit schemes, you can buy daily contact lenses cheaper online and receive exactly the same lenses, but in their original manufacturer’s packaging, when you shop online at FeelGoodContacts.com.
It’s also worth remembering that you aren’t obligated to buy your daily disposable lenses from the optician where you received your prescription. Once you’ve had your contact lens fitting, you can request a copy of your prescription and buy your contact lenses online from any licensed contact lens retailer, at prices much cheaper than the high street.
