What are daily contact lenses?

Daily contact lenses, or daily disposable contact lenses, are the most convenient type of lenses for wearers. Comfortable and hygienic, daily disposables deliver excellent visual correction and convenience, as you can simply throw them away at the end of each day.

Can I correct all vision problems with daily contact lenses?

We offer a wide range of daily disposable contact lenses to correct short-sightedness (myopia) and long-sightedness (hyperopia). As well as daily toric lenses to correct astigmatism.

We also stock daily disposable multifocal contact lenses that correct age-related vision issues such as presbyopia, while providing the ease of daily disposable use.

Why should I choose daily contact lenses?

Ease – ideal for people with a busy lifestyle, there’ll be no more rigorous contact lens cleaning routines and no need to buy solution.

Hygiene – with a fresh pair of daily contact lenses every day, you won’t need to worry about protein and other irritants building up on your lenses.

Comfort – slightly thinner than monthly lenses, daily disposable contact lenses are so comfortable you’ll barely notice you’ve got them in. Silicone hydrogel contact lenses are ideal for daily disposable use. These lenses allow the eyes to remain moist, promoting exceptional comfort.

Which daily contact lenses should I wear?

It’s very important to speak with your optician before trying out new contact lenses to see if they’re suitable for your eyes. There are a few things you also need to consider when choosing daily disposables.

One thing your optician will take into account when choosing your prescription for daily contact lenses is how sensitive your eyes are. If your eyes are prone to dryness, you’ll need to be prescribed lenses that cater to this.

The general rule for standard hydrogel lenses is that the higher the water content, the more breathable they are. However, a typical silicone hydrogel lens offers up to five times the breathability of a hydrogel lens, but with lower water content. This means they can keep your eyes moist for longer, as well as maintain their more stable water content for longer.

It’s, therefore, not always the case that a lens with a higher water content will be better for dry eyes, as often low to mid water contact lenses can be gentler on the eyes, due to their silicone hydrogel design. For more information about the water content of your contact lenses, read our helpful guide from our Eye Care Hub.

UV blocking is also an important factor for everyday lens wear, with many of our daily disposable lenses containing a UV blocker that prevents the majority of sunlight from entering the eye.

How much do daily contact lenses cost?

Daily contact lenses are slightly more costly than packs of monthly or two weekly contacts, however offer the benefit of total convenience, something invaluable if you have a busy lifestyle. By avoiding high street opticians such as Specsavers and Boots, and their direct debit schemes, you can buy daily contact lenses cheaper online. Receive exactly the same lenses, but in their original manufacturer’s box, when you shop online at Feel Good Contacts.

It’s also worth remembering that you aren’t obligated to buy your daily disposable lenses from the optician where you received your prescription. Once you’ve had your contact lens fitting, you can request a copy of your prescription and buy your contact lenses online from any licensed contact lens retailer, at prices much cheaper than the high street.
