What does Biofinity Toric XR mean?
The XR in Biofinity Toric XR means that it features an extended range. You’ll find a higher range of cylinder powers in Biofinity Toric XR than standard Biofinity Toric lenses. It is the only extended range monthly contact lens brand with Aquaform technology.
Are Biofinity Toric lenses more expensive than regular soft lenses?
Biofinity Toric and Biofinity Toric XR contact lenses cost more than regular soft lenses. This is because they are designed to correct astigmatism and therefore feature a more complex lens design which is harder to manufacture. In addition to this, the fitting process takes longer for toric lenses than it does regular soft contact lenses.
Those who wear glasses who haven’t been able to wear contact lenses, or have had challenges with other brands or RGP lenses can finally experience the comfort of soft lenses because of the XR toric range.
The Biofinity Toric range is also more expensive due to their silicone hydrogel material which gives hydrogel lens wearers an opportunity to upograde.
Which is better Biofinity Toric XR or Biofinity Toric?
Both Biofinity Toric XR and Biofinity Toric contact lenses feature exactly the same properties; however, Biofinity Toric XR is better for correcting higher amounts of astigmatism as it features an extended range.
You’ll also find that Biofinity Toric feature a lower price point.

- Matt Carrington-Moore- 31 Oct 2018VerifiedReally pleased with these lenses. They are so much more comfortable than the pro clear lenses and they do not rotate around my eyes so much which required several adjustments every day. The only minor issue is that they are a bit more difficult to take out but I cab live with that!
