What are the similarities between Biomedics Toric and Biofinity Toric?
These contact lenses from CooperVision can be worn daily and replaced monthly. These toric lenses for astigmatism provide clear and uninterrupted vision to those who have astigmatism. Both lenses have a visibility tint which makes it easier to handle the lens.
What are the differences between Biomedics Toric and Biofinity Toric?
Biofinity Toric contact lenses can be worn continuously for up to 6 nights and 7 days. Biofinity Toric has a lower modulus for a softer lens, giving increased comfort to the wearer. The oxygen transmissibility allows more oxygen through to the eyes. Both lenses do not contain a wetting agent, but they do utilise Aquaform technology to bind water molecules to the lens for long lasting hydration and a comfortable lens wearing experience.
Biomedics Toric contact lenses are made from soft hydrogel material (Ocufilcon D) although not as breathable as the silicone hydrogel of Biofinity Toric, the lens is still hydrophilic which means it attracts water to the lens for hydration and comfort. Biomedics the lens with moisture throughout, keeping eyes comfortable throughout wear.
Which is better, Biomedics Toric or Biofinity Toric?
Both of these lenses are excellent options for those that need to correct astigmatism and are happy to remove, clean and store their lenses each night. They are a similar price point and offer a good level of hydration and comfort during wear. Both lenses have a lower modulus for a flexible and adjustable lens. Biofinity Toric has a higher oxygen transmissibility for a breathable lens wearing experience. Both lenses have a similar water content and do not rely on a wetting agent, yet they remain incredibly hydrating all day long. Both lenses are similar in function, you should consult your optician so that they can help you choose the right lens for your eyes and your lifestyle.
