mothers day gift guide

Mothering Sunday is a time of year where we can show love and gratitude to those who raised us, whether they be step parents, a maternal friend or a grandparent. On this special day, we tend to give personalised gifts in the form of flowers, hampers or activities to enjoy together.

Buy her some designer sunnies

Everyone loves designer sunglasses, so why not spoil your maternal figure with some high-quality shades. Try an oversized look with Jimmy Choo sunglasses, these glossy designer shades will add some luxurious style to her look.

A sweet treat hamper

Hampers are always a great idea, especially if your mother is a foodie. For the most luxurious hamper, it’s hard to do better than Fortnum and Mason. Their selection of preserves, biscuits and loose-leaf tea will turn your average teatime into a lavish affair. If your mum has diabetes, why not get her a sugar-free hamper? That way, she can still enjoy some sweet treats without spiking her blood sugar.

The gift of scent

If you want something a little different to what LUSH has to offer, The White Company do a selection of hampers and gift sets at various price points. Filled with candles, reed diffusers and bath products, your mother's home will soon be smelling like a personal spa in no time. Muji also does an excellent Aroma Diffuser that releases vaporised water and essential oils into the air, to scent your surroundings beautifully.

Build your own hamper

If you don’t like the look of the hampers available online and in the shops, you could make your own personalised hamper. All you’ll need is a wicker basket, some straw or coloured tissue paper and the items you want to include. If your mum doesn’t have a sweet tooth, you could include cheese and crackers with grapes and relishes instead (and some wine, if she would appreciate that!). If she's into beauty, then you could build a pamper set with beauty products, bath bombs, a scented candle and our Thera Pearl Eye Mask. She'll have everything she'll need to create her own at-home spa.

A family portrait

You’ll probably get bonus points if you draw or paint your family, but if you’re not a natural-born artist, you can order a personalised family portrait from Etsy. This unique gift can be ordered as a print or a poster, with the option of frames available too.

Maintain good eye health

If your mum is the type to prefer practical gifts like socks and cosy cardigans, why not buy her a few months’ supply of contact lenses and some eye care products? It will show that you are looking after her health which is a lovely thing to do for someone else.
