Mothering Sunday (March 27th) is a time of year when we can show love and gratitude to those who raised us. On this special day, we tend to give personalised gifts in the form of flowers, hampers or activities to enjoy together. Let’s take a look at some of the best pampering gifts for mums this Mother's Day.

A sweet treat hamper

Hampers are always a great idea, especially if your mother is a foodie. For the most luxurious hamper, it’s hard to do better than Fortnum and Mason. Their selection of preserves, biscuits and loose-leaf tea will turn your average tea break into a luxurious afternoon. If your mum has diabetes, why not get her a low sugar hamper? That way, she can still enjoy cookies and jam spreads without spiking her blood sugar.

The gift of scent

LUSH is a reliable option for those that love a pamper session in the bathtub. Their range of bath bombs and scented shower gels come as individual products or gift boxes that are already gift wrapped. The White Company do a selection of hampers and gift sets at various price points. Filled with candles, reed diffusers and bath products, your mother's home will soon be smelling like a personal spa in no time. Muji also does an excellent diffuser that releases vaporised water and essential oils into the room.

Build your own hamper

If you don’t like the look of the hampers available, you could make your own personalised hamper. All you’ll need is a wicker basket, some straw or coloured tissue paper and the items you want to include. If your mum doesn’t have a sweet tooth, you could include cheese and crackers with grapes and relish instead. If she's into beauty, then you could build a pamper set with beauty products, bath bombs, a scented candle and our Thera Pearl Eye Mask. She'll have everything needed to create her own at-home spa.

Glamourous sunglasses

Sunglasses are essential all year round for protecting your eyes from harmful UV rays. Treat your mum to a pair of glamourous designer sunglasses. For an oversized, cat eye look, try the Jimmy Choo Dana/S Black 10E/HD sunglasses. For a more classic addition to her look, the Ray-Ban RB3016 Clubmaster Black Large W0365 51 sunglasses will do the trick.

A family portrait

You’ll probably get bonus points if you draw or paint your family, but if you’re not a natural-born artist, you can ask the people at Paint Your Life to make you a personalised painting of your family, all you have to do is submit your family photo, approve the painted image and then choose your frame. Another option which is just as personal is to print lots of family photos and create a photo album, adding some newer photos she may not have seen before will make it all the more special.

Maintain good eye health

If your mum is the type to prefer practical gifts like socks and cosy cardigans, why not buy her a few months’ supply of contact lenses and some eye care products? Sometimes the gift we’re least expecting is the one most greatly received.
