Ray-Ban was born from a brief put forward by the US Air Force pilots complaining of headaches and altitude sickness caused by harmful sun glares. The result was creating a frame which is, even to this day, the best-selling sunglasses of all time – the 3025 Aviator, introduced to the public in 1936. A radical departure from metal frames came from the 2140 Wayfarer in 1952. Another iconic creation was the 80s 3016 Clubmaster. Each has evolved over the years thanks to advanced technology and innovations, while new designs head to achieve the same recognition. Ray-Ban are continually celebrated for providing a freedom of expression to everyone from, film stars in Hollywood blockbusters, rock stars, royals and politicians, to your next-door neighbour.
