The Tommy Hilfiger brand has become part of the popular culture lexicon. Its humble beginnings date back to 1985 when Hilfiger debuted his first signature, featuring modernised button-down shirts, chinos and other items that became synonymous with American prep culture and style.
The brand also embraced urban culture with stars such as Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Beyoncé Knowles and the late R&B icon Aaliyah all featuring as spokespersons.
The brand has found a new audience of younger fashion lovers after collaborating with movie actress Zendaya, for a capsule collection of women’s clothing items. Having conquered mainstream fashion, Hilfiger eventually added accessories, including sunglasses, to its luxury line.
